Hi. I"m living in the Northeast with my supportive hubby, 2 great girls and toddler son. I run a home based business around scrapbooking and rubber stamping and love everything about those crafts! C is for...Camera!

I am a scrapbooker...which means I need photos...and therefore, a camera is essential! After our recent trip to DC, my handy point and shoot decided it had fulfilled all of its dreams and was fine to leave us before its time.  When we returned home, I dutifully downloaded the last of our pictures off the SD card and when I tried to reinsert it, she'd had enough.  I even took APART THE CAMERA to see if I could fix whatever was ailing the poor gal (mind you, I know NOTHING about camera repair, but how much could it hurt?).  No luck, and no warranty, meant it was time to let her go.  Hence began the research on a new camera.  Luckily, I did have my trusty Canon DSLR to keep me company while I searched, but there is nothing like the convenience of a handy, little camera that you can just throw in your bag and go around town with.  I looked at dpreview, cnet reviews and even consumer reports.  For the budget I was working with, the Canon ELPH (SD models) kept coming up as a good value.  Now, I know that the picture below is NOT of the current model, but turns out I got a killer deal on this one and the reviews didn't really put the newer model that far ahead of this one from last year.  So it arrived safely into my arms this past week and I quickly charged the battery so I could play.  Here is a picture of old faithful taken by the new camera.  And one taken by old faithful of the new gal in town. Now I have options, people! Works for me.

Hi Janet, thanks for visiting my color post today. I'm so glad I came here because I also have camera woes. The video display went on my Lumix point and shoot and I'm looking for a replacement. How do you like your Canon DSLR? I'm also thinking of purchasing one of those.

I actually just started digital scrapbooking and love doing that. Have you tried doing that or do you only do paper ones?

Thanks for all your comments. Joanna, I love my Canon Rebel XTi. It's been a faithful companion for about 5 years now and going strong. I love the pictures I can take and love my telephoto lens as well. My only problem is the size, so that's why I was on the search for a "pocketbook" camera. The Canon Powershot SD1300 is just the right size and so far, the picture quality is great!

Summaiyah, I dabble in digital and usually use templates when I make a digital page. However; most of my pages are paper or hybrid, at best. I like playing with the supplies and the "bulk" of my pages when I get on a roll and have a nice stack of layouts done. Digital is the future of scrapbooking though, so I plan on looking a little closer at it!

Hi JerseyShoreMom...so glad to see a fellow NJ girl in the mix!
